I only met Eileen in her later years. We were delighted that she was guest of honour at the Coventry Road Club dinner one year, she could have talked all evening telling us her tales.  I was also glad to meet her again at the Coventry CC's Di Cooke memorial time trial and pleased to have had an original copy of Wonder Wheels signed by her. She also had my address sent me further items including a signed copy of her pictorial book.  A lovely gentle lady who always seemed to be smiling and cheerful and a great supporter of women's cycling. I feel very honoured to have met her.
