Dedicated to the memory of Eileen Sheridan

Dear Friends, We have been overwhelmed by all your kind words, lovely messages and happy memories, thank you so much.

Please join us to celebrate the life of Eileen Sheridan by adding your memories, thoughts and photos of our sweet mother, record breaking cyclist, talented artist and glass engraver, lover of life, campaigner for Old Isleworth and extraordinary human being!

As Eileen donated her body to medical science, there will be a Celebration of her life in May 2023 instead of a funeral.

If you wish to make a donation in her memory online, there is a choice of three charities, Sustrans, The London Wildlife Trust and Moorfields Eye Hospital. Please click on the charity icons to read why they mean something to Eileen and her family.

Thoughts

To my lovely Auntie Eileen I will miss you and your smiles and your warmest of warm welcomes to me, whenever I have been to Isleworth to see you and Uncle Ken. I always think of you and your lovely garden - you seemed to go together so well - a natural part of you - and you were always natural, sparkling and kind, and like your garden, very lovely.

She was probably the sweetest person I have ever met, will always remember her glorious trifle, her love, her beautiful dolls house and the lovely life she gave me when I was little playing by the river. I still have the lovely engraving she made for me and treasure it always.

Dear Eileen, I shall always remember the precious time we spent admiring nature through your living room windows with Mojca. Being so contented was blissful! Your tenacity, boundless energy and love of life was always inspirational to those in your company! Whatever the goal you set yourself whether in cycling, local community affairs or your family everything appeared so seamless! I only ever heard praise from your adversaries even after we had spent years convincing L.B.O.H to sort out the traffic calming in Church Street and gaining Village Green status! Always pleasant words and a lovely smile! As the Chair of the Isleworth Society, I know first hand of all you did for the community! You and Jean were the heart and soul of the village for many years! I am honoured to have been your neighbour and friend for 30 plus years! I have so many happy stories and memories! The photo is of you receiving a bouquet of flowers from Lady Caroline in the Great Conservatory in Syon Park when you retired from the Isleworth Society Committee. You managed to get across the "finishing line" with grace and dignity! Rest in peace! Love Mike, Mojca and familyxx
